We’re committed to continuously updating our SaaS product with new features to help you take control of your data. Check out some of the features that you currently get in the Accurity SaaS Business Glossary and Data Catalog solution.
Business terms are the foundation of Business Glossary. These are the basic vocabulary of your company business language and help different company members understand each other.
Capture information objects of an organization in a structured way. The resulting business data model holistically describes requirements and data in a company’s specific language, by using an Entity-Relationship-Modelling (ERM) based approach. Included in the Professional plan or higher.
Supports data governance processes with the Business Data Model methodology. Data requirements help capture company wide information objects, which can be then used as a basis for defining the technical model (data catalog), data quality checks, and technical specifications. Included in the Professional plan or higher.
Define hierarchal Data Assets and link these to data sets at the highest level of your Data Catalog. Data Assets can be a system or application output file, database, document, or web page, or whatever you want to recognize as a group of data sets.
Connect your Oracle, MS SQL, Teradata, PostgreSQL, or Excel databases straight to Business Glossary and create a data structure with its data fields automatically retrieved.
Capture your data catalog parts. Start with data sources (data sets), then move to data structures representing tables, views, or reports in the data sets, and end with data fields as the data catalog elements on the lowest level (columns of the data structures).
Create structured Business Rules to bridge relationships between your Data Catalog & Business Glossary and the Data Quality Monitoring solution, by defining data quality rules, top-down, without the need to know the technical specifics of your data sources.
Easily specify reference values for your business terms, including their value descriptions. The related reference values can also be searched via global search.
Easily define relation types between business terms using one of six relation types: child/parent of, related to, replaces, calculated from, synonym of, or contains. This enables you to describe how your business terms are related to each other.
Track and visualize relationships between business model elements and your data catalog.
Export all defined objects to a spreadsheet or import objects from an Excel file.
Use our Chrome web browser plugin to scan any website or web-based application and get context of the defined business terms in your business glossary.
Version tracking: Compare versions of object details and see what has been changed, removed, or added and who made the changes. Commenting: Comment on objects and cooperate on object definitions with your colleagues. Email notifications: Get email notifications about updates to objects of interest. You will immediately know who changed what and how.
